Innovative architecture in Dubai

Dubai is one of the most interesting destinations in the world for architecture. This is quite surprising considering the city appears to have grown out of the beach in several locations. The tough setting has helped to shape the buildings and infrastructure. Consequently, this has made it an attractive design destination.

As a leading architect London based clients love working with, we take inspiration from cities around the world. It is incredible to see what shape buildings as well as infrastructure take in response to things like the climate. Dubai has plenty of attractive highlights.

Dubai City Walk

The interesting thing about the area is it is based on a series of inter-connected hubs. These areas can be home to a wide array of different cultural and commercial attractions. They are connected by highways and many also have attractive structures to provide shading and extra design elements. The Dubai City Walk is one of the most famous examples.

Dubai Marina

An interesting thing about the area is the number of waterfront communities. You can see all kinds of high rise structures in these areas, offering luxury accommodation to hundreds of thousands of residents. Many of them have the combination of yellow sandstone and green glass that has become a trademark of the area. The incredible thing about the Marina is its development was the inspiration to shift the entire centre of the city to the west. This is quite rare but it created a new hub for commerce, entertainment, and leisure.

A unique office

Dubai Future Foundation is based in one of the most unique offices in the whole world. What makes it so special? The whole building was printed using a 3D printer. The project was a fantastic achievement for the sector. It took 17 days to produce the office and just two to install it. The environmental footprint of the property was cut dramatically and labour costs also reduced by 50%.

Dubai Festival City

The waterfront retail and entertainment district covers an astonishing 2.4 million square feet. It overlooks a marina and combines art, culture and entertainment in a single destination. In addition there are hotels, villas, townhouses and lofts. This all contributes to create an incredible community feel.

There are plenty of wonderful things to see in Dubai, including impressive architecture. The area inspires incredible designs. As a passionate architect London based clients can trust in, we appreciate how designers consider the setting and account for the wellbeing and comfort of locals.
