Coffey Architects is an awarding winning team with an obvious passion for good design. We work hard to support every client, making us an architect London clients, as well as those from around the world, love dealing with. Our skills are very broad, including experience working on infill sites and tricky plots.

Award season

The AJ Architecture Awards made their debut in 2017 and recently won the title of ‘Best New Awards Event’. This helps to establish them as a much more prestigious prize. Expect more competition for this years’ prizes as a result.

With the above in mind, Architects Journal recently revealed that entry for the 2018 awards is now open. Entries must be projects that have been completed between January 2017 and July 2018. The deadline for submission is 6th July.

Categories

Just like last year there will be twenty different categories in the 2018 awards. These include Refurb of the Year, Sustainable Project, Tall Building, Workplace, Cultural Project, Landscape Architecture, and many more.

In addition to the individual categories, there will be three overall prizes for Building of the Year, Architect of the Year, and Editor’s Choice.

Benefits of entering

Winning an award is always a special honour but the AJ awards offer a little something extra. A jury panel will visit every project that makes it on to the shortlist for the event. As a result the architect will get to promote their work to leading experts and colleagues.

In addition there is excellent media exposure for each practice. Winners will feature in a special edition of the Architects Journal and on their website. Press kits are also provided so winners, shortlisted companies, and those with commendations can promote their success.

Diverse

If last year was anything to go by, the 2018 awards will be very diverse and also celebrate everything good about architecture. Keep an eye out for the publication of the shortlist of projects later in the summer.

Coffey Architects looks forward to seeing all of the wonderful projects for this year. This is a great opportunity to take inspiration from the work of other practices and practitioners in our field.
