Attitudes to architecture in Russia have been changing dramatically in recently years. During the height of the Soviet Union from 1922 to 1991 giant monolithic buildings were very popular. On the 1st of November the winner of the 2017 RIBA Stirling Prize for Architecture was announced. This year the award was given to the multi-million pound redevelopment of Hastings Pier by dRMM Architects, awarding it the title of the best new building in the UK. Continue reading
