Ordos City in Inner Mongolia, China is home to a unique collection of contemporary architecture. The urban centre was intended as a modern, futuristic utopia when construction began in 2004, but it has sadly not performed anywhere near the anticipated level. The plan was to create homes for over a million people, but only a fraction of the finished buildings are actually occupied, with a population of around 100,000 in May 2015. Continue reading

Examining Britain’s housing of the future
In modern times, the demand for housing in the world’s major cities is climbing ever higher, property prices are increasing, more people are renting as opposed to buying, and more and more of us are working from home. As a result of these factors and many more, residential architecture must evolve and change in order to reflect the needs of Britain’s current population. As you can see, we have set up a section on our main site specifically focused on CVs and applications to join our London-based architectural practice. It’s always been important to us to keep a door open to new talent, and we pride ourselves on giving exciting opportunities to skilled people. From a traditional view, architecture has always been considered a challenging field to break into. We all remember the hard work, dedication and sacrifice we had to make to establish ourselves within the profession, and it’s always a great moment for us when we can help fresh talent trying to break through.
