Addressing climate change through architecture

We recently participated in the MIPIM 2016 Expo in Cannes. For the past 25 years, this four-day event has brought together professionals who are involved in all aspects of the building and property industry throughout the world, from architects to investors to logistics and industrial specialists. The included exhibitions and events provide a great opportunity for us all to discuss what we’ve achieved, but most importantly it gives an ideal foundation for discussions about how to move ahead in the right way. Developing a new multi-use space for Holborn

Here at Coffey Architects, we’re excited about embarking on our latest project, which will involve the redevelopment of a one-acre site in Central London which is currently home to the council-run Holborn Library and Cockpit Yard arts space. Working in collaboration with developers U+I and Camden Council, we will remodel and revitalise the existing library, create 105 new homes, add new studio spaces, and design an archive facility for local study. Celebrating the short term

Pop-up architecture has risen in popularity over the last few years because of the many incredible advantages it offers. The temporary nature of the structures means that architects can focus entirely on the design, with a reduced set of practical criteria to satisfy. There are more rules for permanent structures and the designs need to be suitable for a wider range of purposes, so temporary architecture tends to offer more scope for original flights of fancy.
