A number of independent bodies and housing charities have revealed that the amount of new housing being built each year is around only half of the number of new homes that are needed in real terms. A pioneering housing project in Merton
A new housing development in Mitcham has been officially opened this month with the aim of alleviating some of the need for affordable, practical housing in the capital. The Y:Cube is a block of 36 self-contained, pre-assembled flats based around a central courtyard. The functional units each contain a living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom and are intended to be occupied by a single person in need of housing. Continue reading
