James Furzer, a 26 year old architect based in London, has won an award for an innovative design to provide shelter for homeless people. The winners of the AZ Awards for 2015 have been announced, awarding honours to the best 19 projects spanning several categories including architecture, landscapes, interiors, furnishings and lighting. Inspired architecture is improving the capital’s public spaces
Since the beginning of the 21st century, we have seen dramatic changes in attitudes towards the streets and public spaces of London. The capital’s squares, parks, rivers and green spaces play an equally important role as the surrounding buildings when it comes to creating a more human city. Recent years have seen all manner of projects put in place throughout London to revitalise its public spaces, including the construction of the Olympic Park, the pedestrianisation of Trafalgar Square and many smaller projects that have focused on improving the city’ streets and parks.
