Celebrating New York City’s architecture this October

New York City is home to some of the most incredible architecture in the world. The concentration of astonishing buildings in a relatively small space is amazing and the pursuit of new designs means the city is always looking forward. Anybody interested in architecture will want to visit this October for the 7th edition of Archtober. The month-long celebration has a packed program including tours, talks, and even parties.
There will be events across all five NY Boroughs, including a look at a different Building of the Day for the whole month. These walking tours will take visitors through some of the most incredible properties including Staten Island Courthouse, Lenfest Centre by Renzo Piano, and Noguchi Museum.

One of the highlights of the month will be Open House New York on the 14th and 15th of October. This will be the 15th year NY has taken part in the architectural event, allowing people the chance to tour a number of properties that are generally inaccessible to the public for the rest of the year. There are more than 200 sites available to visit on the weekend so expect a packed program.

Another fantastic part of Archtober will be Workplace Wednesdays. The series of events will allow visitors to get a glimpse into the studios of some renowned architects. There will be workshops, talks, and presentations at each studio.

There are plenty of other interesting events to enjoy too including Pumpkitecture, an architectural pumpkin carving competition, boat tours to see the Manhattan skyline, architecture cake baking, and an after-hours tour of the Guggenheim.

As one of the most creative architects London has and a proud participant of the Open House London event, we understand just how great the NY event will be. We urge everybody interested to take the time to view some buildings, enjoy the talks, and expand their knowledge and love of architecture.
