In June, RIBA is set to open a brand new dockside architecture centre in Liverpool. They have recently revealed their new Broadway Malayan-designed architectural establishment for the north of England. It is currently planned to open on Liverpool’s waterfront this summer. RIBA North shall be their first centre for architecture that lies outside the capital. Here, they are based at Portland Place.

At RIBA North, they possess a structure with museum-like conditions. It shall provide a brilliant opportunity to view their globally revered historic stockpile. These collections highlight hundreds of years worth of our country’s remarkable history with architecture. The building, which consists of galleries, a cafe, a shop and a talking space, will be split across two low-lying blocks.

Known as the Digital City Model, this new build is also predicted to transform into a professional utensil for architects, developers, and planners when they look into future projects. In addition, the centre shall run a programme of temporary exhibits that show prints, drawings and photographs from RIBA’s archives. These date from the 15th century all the way forward to today.
