The first shortlists for AJ Awards

The shortlists for the first five categories of the inaugural AJ Architecture Awards were announced at the start of September. There are plenty of incredible projects on the list and we are pleased to reveal that our Hidden House is among them.
The buildings that have been revealed fall into one of the following categories;

House of the Year
Housing Project
Budget Project
Cultural Project
Heritage Project

Hidden House is in the first, and potentially most prestigious of these. We couldn’t be happier to have made the shortlist and sit alongside the other stunning projects. It further secures our place as an architect London based clients and those further afield can call on for an excellent design.

In total the first AJ Architecture Awards will be awarded to winning projects in twenty categories. The shortlists for the rest of these will be revealed over the first week of September.

Judging will take place from 20th September until 13th October. Each project will be visited and examined in detail. The judges will be looking at a range of things including how well the brief was met, use of space, sense of place, client or community engagement, and the aesthetics and details of the design.

The winners will be announced on 7th December at a gala event in Central London. The night will also see three special awards given out for AJ Design of the Year, AJ Architect of the Year, and the Editor’s Choice Award. All projects on the shortlists, whether they win an award or not, will be able to win one of these.

It is great that the Architects Journal is making the move into awards and looking to do more to celebrate the best projects across the UK. We are pleased to be involved and that Hidden House continues to earn outstanding praise.

If you would like to see some of the projects that have been shortlisted already you can view the Architects Journal website. There is a handy map that shows the location as well what category the building is in.
