A new home for U+I

Alongside creating entirely new buildings, we regularly work on revitalising and updating existing structures throughout London and beyond, bringing safety, beauty and functionality to neglected or defunct buildings so that they are suitable for modern living, working and playing. We were recently able to assist a group of people who are dedicated to doing this.

U+I are an award winning property regeneration group celebrated for transforming the appearance and use of buildings across Dublin, Manchester and London. In rejuvenating buildings in underused, neglected parts of towns and cities, they breathe life into previously neglected works of architecture while contributing towards the creation of thriving communities.

When the time came for them to move to new headquarters in London, they sought our services to update the building and get it ready for use. Working in conjunction with Stephan Dowers, Ab Rogers Design, and North Design, we were entrusted to transform the old building in Victoria into a contemporary, bright space which is conducive to creative thinking and collaboration.

The finished design features meeting rooms and office space which includes extensive use of glass. This not only allows natural light to illuminate the entire area; it also creates an open and friendly space which encourages the U+I team to work together and share ideas. This is enhanced by the open plan layout of the office, with meeting rooms integrated into the office itself rather than being included as separate spaces.

Of course, alongside practical considerations, U+I also wanted to ensure that the office was aesthetically appealing and reflected their quirky, creative spirit. This side of the company’s ethos is embodied in unique decorative sculptural touches and bright pops of colour interspersed throughout the space. They are set to move into their new home very soon, and we are hopeful that our contributions to their new office will help to inspire, motivate and encourage the team in their future endeavours. As a leading architect in London, we are always excited to work on projects which involve revitalising existing properties, and this was no exception.
