Earlier this month, our team had a brilliant time at the third annual Architects’ Ball at Shoreditch Town Hall. The aim of the Ball is to acknowledge and celebrate fresh talent in the architectural industry, while also raising money for two very worthy causes: Maggie’s Centres, an organisation which helps to support people living with cancer and their families, and the Museum of Architecture, which provides a platform for professionals and the public to learn about and get involved with the latest developments in the world of architecture. These are both causes which we’re extremely passionate about, so we were excited to get involved.
The Museum of Architecture is one of the most exciting charities working in the UK today, and they have helped to stimulate growth in the industry in many different ways since first being established almost a decade ago. They achieve this by providing valuable resources and working opportunities for architects, educating and informing the public about the profession, and making the field more accessible for everyone with a varied programme of exhibitions, courses and events. From well-established professional architects to students and children who are considering going into the field, they provide help, support and education for everyone.
As architects in London, we love to see initiatives such as the ones carried out at the Museum of Architecture, as they are contributing towards the future of the industry and helping both professionals and hopefuls to make great steps forward. Innovation is the key for the future of architecture, and by opening up the profession to new people, they are helping to welcome in the next era of new ideas which leads to the creation of beautiful, functional and sustainable buildings.
If you are interested in architecture and its future in any way, whether you’re a professional, currently studying the subject, or even if you are just fascinated by it, be sure to check out the Museum of Architecture and attend some of their events.
