The shortlist has been announced for the latest Presidential Library
A seven-strong shortlist of prominent architects has been selected to compete for the honour of designing the Barack Obama Presidential Centre in Chicago. The city was selected in May and the building will be based on the South Side, although a site is yet to be confirmed. It will house a library that will hold the archives from Obama’s presidency and a gallery to commemorate his time in office. Continue reading
Mathematical puzzle inspires a home for all seasons
In the early 20th century, English mathematician and creator of puzzles Henry Dudeney figured out how to transform a square into an equilateral triangle. Known as the “Haberdashers Puzzle”, the individual pieces are hinged to form a chain that turned into either the triangle or the original square.
