We have worldwide experience in the creation of commercial architecture, In Dhaka, Bangladesh, we designed “Scala”, a 13 storey commercial building. Utilising fire escapes as an external, vertical promenade, it offers users alternative outdoor access. An external layer of aluminium louvres that follow the pattern of the stairs also adds an entirely new aesthetic dimension to the entire project. We also designed ‘Ingot’, an office masterplan in Shandong Province in China, which comprises of a large square headquarters surrounded by a landscape of various buildings for auxiliary functions. Areas of grasses and trees were designed to give a more ecological feel to the area, whilst stacked bars of office space in the headquarters enable superior natural lighting and ventilation. The brick fins keep bright sunlight at bay, whilst also allowing people to see outside easily.

The Cloister office masterplan in Qingdao, China, combines several buildings including offices, catering facilities and sales buildings to create an entire complex. Linking various departmental buildings with gardens between spaces, it creates a tranquil space that fulfils all possible roles required for businesses. With a glowing cloister running through the centre of the office building which glows to express the use of recovered energy from a nearby electricity generating plan, it’s an aesthetically pleasing and highly functional space.

Closer to home, in London’s Kings Cross, we designed the ‘Twins’. These are two office buildings located quite close to each other and designed to integrate into their surroundings, they are highly functional buildings with plenty of open space for comprehensive and simple access to surrounding areas. On top of this, we also renovated the barristers’ chambers in Middle Temple, London, opening the building up with a central spine of storage between the circulation route and meeting spaces.
