At Coffey Architects we have worked very hard to build our practice into one of the very best. Our first focus was to become established in London. In our pursuit of this we have seen our team grow to almost 30 strong, including specialists in different sectors. This combination of talented people has helped us to become a great choice for clients who want to work with an architect in London.
With our first goal achieved we have begun looking at ways to expand our operations overseas. We have already worked in several different countries including China and Bangladesh but want to work in even more markets. This can be challenging though, particularly for smaller firms like us.
One way to achieve the expansion we desire is to pool resources with other small and medium sized architectural companies. That way we can all benefit and compete with much larger companies who have us beat in terms of staff numbers and budgets.
Londonon could be a great way to pool resources and will give us the opportunity to work with other architects from our sector based all around the world. The idea is to conduct rolling research on host cities around the world and make it available to all collaborators. The end result will be an exploration of many different markets.
The Londonon scheme is set to be launched when Article 50 is triggered and the process for Brexit formally begins. It could prove to be a really great help for architects when this occurs, providing useful information to help small and mediums sized firms take on work in new markets. It could also help firms who have colleagues from different countries. At Coffey Architect almost a full third of our team are from throughout Europe.
